Me and my friends went to Alfonso Castaneda on Saturday February 23, 2013. The place is part of Nueva Vizcaya, and can be travelled by Genesis Bus via Pasay- Baler,Aurora or Cubao – Baler,Aurora if you are coming from Manila. We went there using a private vehicle since we are just living at Munoz, Nueva Ecija.
If you are adventurous and like to explore places that have not yet seen by many and be one of the first to feel the solemnity and peaceful feeling of nature, then this place is for you. There are many hidden beauty on this place like the caves, hot springs, waterfalls, and mountains. Tourism has not yet been fully developed that’s why this is known only by few. My friend is living at Alfonso Castaneda and she encouraged us to spend the weekend for some adventurous vacation. We were accompanied by people from the municipality of A.Castaneda to guide us.
Pangalabinan Cave, is located at Sitio Sinepget, Brgy. Pelaway. From its brgy. hall, it would take 2 hours walk to reach the sitio and another 1 hour hiking to reach the cave. Sounds long right? But it’s worth it.
Be sure to wear those hiking/trailing shoes or sandals, there’s an easy trail as well as difficult trails. A view from the top while having a rest are the mountains touching the clouds. You can have a rest to a small wooden house, relax, take a deep breath and feel the fresh air.
Before reaching the cave, two waterfalls will be seen along the way, the Maenga and Buwago Falls. Maenga Falls is 10 minutes away from cave while Buwago Falls is just below the cave opening. Since Maenga Falls is along the way, you can take a shower before or after you reach the cave.
Part of the Pangalabinan Cave is the Buwago Falls. On the right side of the picture is the mouth of the cave where the water of the falls came from.
Pictures of the Pangalabinan Cave.
Surely, I will revisit the place to try the hot spring, and see more of the other places. If you wanted to go there too I think they have a website just Google it. You may also leave a message here if you are interested and I can tell it to my friend working at the LGU of A. Castaneda to coordinate your visit.
This is my first time to create a blog. I’ll be happy to hear your comments and I hope you enjoy reading this. Feel free to share this to your friends and relatives.
